The PRODELTA, National School of free flight gliding, certification n° 12 of the AeCI, born in the year 1976 at Castelluccio di Norcia from the collaboration and subsequent aggregation of some passionate pioneers of free flight-gliding, then only means available to allow the flight with takeoff from a slope. Aim of the school was and is the difusion of free flight, and the site then opted for teaching, Castelluccio di Norcia, by virtue of a topography suitable for free flight, has soon known not only throughout Italy, but also in European countries, so much that at present there are many European schools that lead their students in this lovely place to taste the first contacts with the flight.
In parallel is uncovered another historical site and ideal for organizing school activities but not only, It's called Poggio Bustone in province of Rieti and is characterized by a considerable difference between takeoff and landing ( about 900 Mt ).
Soon this magnificent site overlooking the Reatine plain containing the reserve of Lakes Lungo and Ripasottile with an enviable flora and fauna is used for events of high international importance as the paragliding World Championships, National Championships and other major international competitions.
In 1978 Claudio Papa, one of the pioneers of free flight Italian, detects the school, Since then he has always directed with excellent results on both the curriculum and the technician, bringing the students not only to fly coming off the slope to reach the landing, but making him also acquire all the technical knowledge of the flight that they can fly safely, prolonging the stay in heavens and the distance traveled.

In 2016 an unfortunate seismic event affected the entire village of Castelluccio di Norcia including the educational headquarters of the school. It has been rebuilt in the vicinity of the village and has been included in the complex "The Deltaplane" allowing courses to run as continuously as ever. Recently, the school celebrated its 40 years of teaching, transmitting with continuity and dedication the passion and technique to the many students who have attended and attend the courses.
